Teacher Prometheus: “Healthy thoughts and attitudes can only be cultivated with the awareness of the responsibility we have for the thoughts we allow to remain in our consciousness and the willingness to ‘do the work’ of discernment and evaluation from our higher minds in coordination with our ‘hearts’, meaning the Guidance we are continuously being offered by our Thought adjuster, our Spirit parents the Adjutant Spirits and those human personalities who are concerned with our health, welfare and moral, ethical, spiritual development. As the personality starts off in the infant human, it is basically a template and the potentials and characteristics of the personality are inherent in the unique and unrealized as of yet divinely bestowed Gift, the nature of which cannot be described by any mechanistic or biochemical nomenclature.

“The personality requires careful and divinely informed and guided refinement and cultivation. The individual human must willingly cooperate to actively discern and acknowledge the aspects of the personality which are in need of development, sophistication and ‘enculturation into the highest Spiritual expression of that rudimentary character trait’. The early expressions of inherent personality traits will be projected through the developing egocentric infant but have the potential to be developed by the parents and the Adjutant Mind Spirits as the infant is taught and steered, encouraged to express their growing personality. The parents of a young child will notice early on there are recognizable and unique qualities of personality present which are germane to that individual child. The important and exceedingly critical role of the parents and primary care-givers is to ensure that the child is positively reinforced when demonstrating healthy social and emotional behavior and discouraged without impatience or threat of violence from anti-social or inappropriately aggressive or overly-competitive behavior.

“The parents must comprehend the tremendous importance of steering the child in the direction which will enable the greatest positive and healthy, moral, ethical and respectful social relationships. Willingness on the part of the child to practice loving, respectful and helpful behaviors is also a prerequisite for healthy and socially sustainable personality development. Without an active and ongoing system of positive feedback and effective non-violent disciplining and boundary establishment, the child will fail to learn how to monitor and self-regulate, intelligently modify and apply the personality through the attitude, demeanor, approach to problem-solving, conflict resolution and day-to-day choice-making.

“The moral, ethical and behavioral standards of the parents, teachers, care-givers, and the society all play a part in the personality development of an individual. The cultural, spiritual and religious, as well as educational frameworks in the child’s environment are all contributors in the personality development. By far, the most prominent influences in the development of the personality after the Gift of the Indwelling Father Fragment is the degree of receptivity the child has to the leadings of the Indwelling Adjuster and the cooperative and free-willed decisions made by the individual of person-status to ‘attune’ and ‘align’ with the guidance and direction being continuously but subtly offered. The ‘Still Small Voice’ is indeed the Gift of the Creator to His mortal evolutionary children of the space-time universes.

Teacher Prometheus: “Forgive all personalities for the false starts, erroneous decisions, and unwise choices they make in time during their mortal sojourn in serving the evolutionary deity, the Supreme Being, and as they learn from past mistakes, missteps or misguided attempts to appease the lower animal-origin mind. The human-being is divinely indwelt by a pure, loving, dedicated and educated ‘pre-personal’ Fragment of the Creator. Each evolutionary creature of space-time with the capacity of mind and free-will which is part of the personality endowment, and who has made a spiritually-minded, selfless (considerate) ‘moral’ decision to serve another being is given the gift of the Indwelling Guide – the Thought Adjuster.

The ‘language of the heart’ is the communication the Indwelling Guide teaches the mortal to hear and to translate the ‘Will of God’ into the world and in the relationships among men and women, the individual mortal must first attune to the ‘higher frequency’ communications emanating from the loving and intelligent ‘Voice Within’. This has been variously called: ‘the Still Small Voice’, ‘Wisdom Within,’ ‘Guide Within’ ‘Teacher Within’, and many other names on this and other planets of which there are trillions in creation. And yet the Creator knows ALL His children without exception.

“So very much time is wasted in the material pursuits on the planet which have distracted humans from their most valuable and meaningful relationship, the relationship with the ‘God Within’, the Indwelling Spirit that inhabits your heart and makes the investments of Light and Insight, real spiritualizing energies, ‘morontial mota’ which are the high values necessary to continue on an upward progressive, spiritual path, and the ‘leadings of spirit’, which are constantly directed from the local Universe Creator Son, Christ Michael, and the Universe Mother Spirit. The Spirit of Truth on Urantia works with all humans as they sincerely seek to know the Creator Son. His gift is continuously renewed with each generation to provide a spiritizing force that works within the human mind with the assistance of the TA and the cooperation and humility of the human. The Spirit of Truth is very active in the young child along with the Mind Adjutants of Mother Spirit even before the first ‘moral free-willed-choice’ is made. Groundwork is also laid for the TA by a healthy and loving, spiritually receptive, morally principled parental influence.

“Each human personality is a unique gift of the Creator Father and in all Creation. Various orders of Beings are given aspects of Divine Personality which are qualified for certain roles as well as administrative and artistic services in the hierarchy of the Divine Plan. Within this hierarchy however, there is no competitiveness as that would be a sure recipe for chaos and disorder. The cosmic order is designed intelligently and lovingly and the Paradise and Havona Creations are perfect creations. The Time-Space Creation which consists of Seven ‘Superuniverses’ circling Paradise and Havona, contain within them hundreds of thousands of individual Universes and billions of planetary spheres, which are the ‘nurseries and the gardens’ of the growing souls for trillions of creatures of mortal station.

Teacher Prometheus: “While humans need to be aware of their very basic survival needs, it is of critical importance for them to begin to educate children from a very young age – as soon as the child shows awareness of others, even from the age of eighteen months, and in some cases earlier – to the needs of others. These others include family members, and friends who visit and interact with the family, also including neighbors and professional care-givers.

“All morality is based on the awareness of the need to respect, uphold and honor the fundamental needs of others, because of the truth of the fact: All are children of the First Source Creator. This means the concept of a Divine Parent is essential for morality, social health, and the progression of both the individual, as well as individual societies, nations and associations. This recognition leads to the full realization of responsibility as a child of our Creator. The embracing of membership in the spiritual Family of God brings an awareness of the need for intelligent, loving cooperation with each other to co-create with the help of real Spiritual forces and personalities – a planetary culture of Light and Life.

“Wayshower is a word which deserves to be carefully considered, and repeatedly emphasized in a society to underscore and remind all members, no matter their personal stage of personality development, status, or station, that they have a moral priority and obligation to lead by example and demonstration, behavior of Brotherly Love and consideration. This moral obligation applies to parents, siblings, teachers, mentors, friends, neighbors, and service providers, leaders in education, government, business and spiritual communities.

“The individual members of a society must be taught by example that each person who is given any opportunity to interact in a relationship with a child, is expected to exhibit the most noble bearing of excellence in ethical and moral, spiritually responsible behavior. The highest codes of conduct and loving service values of a sustainable society must be actively practiced by all members. Exceptional care must be taken in teaching each member that they play a role in the raising of viable, healthy fully functional, emotionally balanced and morally capable children.

“This ideal of behavior may sound challenging to achieve, practically impossible to attain, and daunting to deliver. The importance of investing all the very best behavior of selfless, loving service, respect for equality and responsible conduct to children can not be underestimated. Each person can acknowledge the potential impact and real influence they are endowed with, because of their free-will personality status. They can accept how their personal choices: either honor the Divine Guidance to serve as a loving wayshower, neglect an opportunity to teach a child the Christ-like way, or cause confusion and promote conflict in a child’s mind through examples of selfish, dishonorable, unloving, unjust or morally corrupt behavior.

“Brotherhood is not only to be seen as a lofty concept based on intellectually-derived ethics, but a living and vital, breathing way of relating to all of one’s fellows. This certainly extends to all other human beings born on neighboring time-space spheres, but also extends to all orders of created and personalizing, perfecting and ministering individualized beings as well as the application of this principal of brotherhood to all evolutionary races, and Spirit-indwelt species.

Teacher Prometheus: “Well-being is a phrase that can be applied in all situations where a human-being is called upon to make a choice, for the choice to serve is presented time and time again to each child of the evolutionary spheres. The consciously ethical, striving, and spiritually receptive individual is aware of the potentialities of choice-making to a degree in the rudimentary intellect which develops with each experiential choice. The average-minded human being certainly has in their possession free will, bestowed at the time the personality-gift is given, at birth and not before. Teaching the child to make choices, which consider the well-being of others, is of paramount importance. As it states in the Urantia Papers, the Gift of the Thought Adjuster does not arrive until the human child makes his or her first moral choice.

“An infant develops an ability to communicate and this precipitates learning via choice-making. Parents must be cognizant of the fact that they are members of a community, which supports the family, and therefore they must teach their children to make responsible choices within the community. The ‘common good’ must be considered the higher priority, before a choice is made which has the potential to affect the whole community.

“The first several years of development are focused on the nourishment of the mind, the physical vehicle and the emotional-psychological and social needs of the child. The child’s sense of self is but the seed of consciousness, a narrow and necessarily self-focused awareness. The needs of the child stimulate the human parents investments of time, energy, but most importantly love. This ‘self’ could be called ‘ego’ but would more properly be described as a seed of greater ‘consciousness’. The investment of the efforts of human parents, Mother Spirit, and Seraphim which tend to the young children and the over-care-protective-calming energies of Christ Michael our Universe Sovereign are required to grow the seed to an expanded consciousness. Personality depends upon this expanded consciousness.

“The Spirit of Truth – the Gift of Christ Michael to His Urantian children after his resurrection (more appropriately called translation from His mortal Bestowal mission) – begins to work in coordination with the Adjutant Mind Spirits of Mother Spirit as soon as the child has sufficient awareness of self and the awareness of his or her ability to respond to stimulus and create ‘thought forms’ which are an expression of its needs and feelings. The needs of the self-aware human-child-personality are not simply physical!

“The child-personality desires, and above all else needs, the acceptance and loving affection and the attentiveness of his or her parents. The child also fundamentally requires and deserves safety and security. The child can only thrive if certain primary conditions are met: Firstly, a safe and caring environment; secondly, accepting and nurturing attitudes from the care-givers; thirdly, the nourishment which stimulates growth of body, mind-intellect, and social, emotional, and ‘spiritual intelligence’.

“The conditions of safety, acceptance, nourishment and commitment – response-ability – to the needs of the child must be met sufficiently for there to be a ‘viable child’, who yearns to learn beyond the vital prerequisite of simple animal-survival skills.

Teacher Prometheus: “Great acts of generosity cannot be measured by the calculating mind, but by the feeling one experiences in the heart, and the surety in one’s confidence that a kindness has been proffered.

“The sincere act of generosity does not involve any analysis of sacrifice, but is given to alleviate suffering, support the growth and development of another, offer companionship and compassion, solace, or simply comfort.

“Monetary generosity is of value if it assists another in sustaining, maintaining or contributing to their quality of life, health, welfare, happiness, or to alleviate strife. ‘Small’ is only a relative word and to label an act of genuine generosity as ‘large’ or ‘small’ is inappropriate in the spiritual sense.

“In general, if you feel ‘soul-satisfied’ in your action when choosing to give either, words, deeds, time, emotional, educational, financial, or spiritual support, then consider it sincere and refrain from glorifying your ego by advertising the act of giving to others.

“It is commendable to share and to expect nothing in return, but unnecessary to attach a sense of pride to the giving, rather a sense of humility, since ultimately all good comes back to you, and is an investment of love for which you were created.

Teacher Prometheus: “Trust is the healthy attitude which allows a free-willed human to follow the leadings of the Indwelling Spirit. With trust in these leadings one’s day-to-day decisions will be better informed, one’s trials and tribulations better managed. In closeness with one’s Indwelling Spirit there is guidance.

“The individual can be tempted to ignore the ‘still small voice’ and listen instead to the fear-based, animal-origin mind – the legacy of the evolutionary mortal.

“In the free-willed creature, the natural course of evolution will lead to a brain capable of comparative analysis. Such a crude intellect can still present to the consciousness a mental scenario of the potential consequences of the choices at hand.

“The human will be able to access both individual memory as well as the memories embedded in the inherited genes from his ancestors. The collective consciousness of the race is also a source of memory – a resource to be drawn upon as much as the mindal capacity of the individual allows. The creature-mind develops in proportion to its learning ability, both intellectually and psychologically as well as emotionally, socially & spiritually.

“The environment of a human being is a tremendously important factor in the development of a healthy, moral, ethical, responsible and productive individual. Genetic health and parenting are also extremely important factors in the development of a human who is capable of being receptive to spiritualizing forces.

“This includes the Indwelling Spirit, the Divine Parents, as well as any other Spirit personalities which the Divine Adjuster sees fit to allow into the higher mind of the individual. This is the higher functioning mind associated with the reasoning, intuition and cognitive capacities that involve higher communication and receptivity to higher frequency thoughts.
