Thought Adjuster: “The change initiated by a few pioneers and adventurers can lead to global transformation. The necessary ingredients for this to occur are usually perseverance and time. Perseverance is required to sustain positive efforts and spiritual orientation. Time offers the opportunity for the seeds of truth to germinate in hearts and for spiritual wisdom to spread throughout the world.

For many, it is difficult to see how personal and individual change contributes to elevating the spiritual level of your entire world. When a human being decides to open their mind and sincerely seek the truth, ‘the heavens open’ and everything that mind is capable of receiving and understanding is made available. From that moment onward, depending on the individual's interest and decisions, that mind will have everything needed to promote the growth of the soul, and spiritual fruits will begin to manifest in that life.

It is then, when the fruits of the spirit become evident in the lives of those who have established a relationship with their Father in heaven, that those around them somehow perceive the peace these individuals carry with them, sparking spiritual curiosity. The individual actions of those awakening spiritually always result in benefits for others, directly contributing to the spiritual upliftment of the world.

The best part of all this is that everyone can participate in the glorious endeavor of transforming this dark and backward world into a sphere of light and life. The primary task you must undertake is learning to know the will of the Father and expressing it through each of your lives in an original and unique way. Do you not see that a world filled with love is only possible when all the men and women of this world express love toward their fellow beings? Love will not fall from the sky but will be born in the individual hearts of each of you, and one day it will fill every corner of this world. Strive to be a little better each day, a little more like the Father, and your world will also become a little better every day.”

Thought Adjuster: “When a creature chooses to do the Father’s will and live striving to be the best they can become, they will always encounter experiences along their path that confirm their decision and inspire their actions. These experiences include an increasingly clear understanding of the divine purpose and how one fits into this purpose, progressive revelations of truth that offer a more complete view of reality, wisdom to face challenges with more courage by finding dynamic and original solutions, and a growing trust in the care of the invisible Father through an expanding revelation of His unconditional love in our lives, which brings about lasting peace that transcends the appearances of the material world.

These are the fruits of the spirit, and any human being who has reaped even a little of these fruits in their life will naturally want more. This is all the confirmation needed to maintain focus and effort towards achieving self-mastery and the eventual perfection of personality. However, at the beginning, only faith can provide the impetus to undertake the task of uplifting oneself, for spiritual fruits are always the result of the struggle for perfection; therefore, they cannot be known or appreciated without a human first making a conscious effort.

This is why life offers ample opportunities for each person to decide to take a better path and live more productively. Most of the problems humans face in the world are the consequences of their individual and collective actions. When a creature, due to lack of wisdom, chooses the path of ego satisfaction, they will inevitably face the consequences sooner or later. At that moment, they must choose whether to attempt an alternative course of action or continue with their old, selfish ways of thinking.

Truly, the entire universe seems to conspire to promote spirituality in human beings. However, the final choice is always free and is a decision made without any coercion. Neither the Father nor any of His 'agents' will ever force a mortal to choose the path of the spirit. Nor are there punishments or reprisals for choosing the wrong path; but when a creature tries to live in contradiction to the laws of the universe – love – the only possible outcome is death. Just as in this world food sustains your material bodies, in the entire creation it is unconditional love that sustains the spirit, and rejecting this love is like someone deciding to stop eating in the material world.

You can be assured that no one will be judged unjustly when determining the aptitude for eternal life. Throughout your life, you will have many opportunities to choose to rise above your perceived limitations and begin to work to forge a new being of light and beauty with the help of God’s presence within you. Only when you have definitively rejected the light and knowingly chosen a path different from the Father’s will of love will you bring true and final death to your own soul. However, even then, if there remains but a glimmer of the desire to be better, divine mercy will forgive everything, and the Father will show you a new path while waiting with open arms for you to enter the kingdom as His beloved children.”

Thought Adjuster: “It is the desire of the human being that determines the eternal destiny of the mortal personality. When a human being sincerely desires to know the Father and do His will, nothing can prevent them from achieving this goal. Neither time, nor distance, nor the circumstances of the material world can impose permanent obstacles to the attainment of perfection for a creature that has set this purpose as primary in their life.

The human desire to become better – to strive for perfection – is what keeps the channels of communication open to receive the Father's guidance and hear ‘the voice’ of God. By focusing on seeking the Father, the creature will be prepared to listen and will adjust their discernment to receive celestial transmissions – the progressive and increasingly complete revelations of truth.

The desire to improve – the hunger for righteousness and thirst for uprightness – is the first step. The second step is to practice the discovered truths, apply the guidance received, and live in accordance with the increasingly higher ideals that are formed in minds beginning to be illuminated by the spirit. The only way to understand spiritual truths is through experience. You must live the high ideals you form in your mind and truly become the change you wish to see in this world. This is where the seeds obtained through the progressive spiritualization of a human being are sown to produce the true fruits of the spirit through service and experience.

This is how a human being becomes immortal, and their existence grows ever more real. First, through the desire to be better, and then through the effort to live according to their highest ideals of perfection, practicing what they have discovered, which effectively means doing the will of the Father. And what is the Father’s will for my life, you may ask? It is seeing you ascend to the truest, kindest, and most beautiful expression of your own being, becoming the best you can be, facing life with courage and enthusiasm, living intensely, and preparing for an eternity of participation in the development of a higher reality for the entire creation.”

Thought Adjuster: “In the life of human beings, truth can only be learned through experience. Any truth that has not been ‘lived’ is merely theoretical knowledge for a person. Only when one has personally felt the importance of something do values acquire meaning. This is why it is so important in human life to maintain an open mind and always have the attitude of a student, for life is the inexhaustible source of experiences that progressively illuminates the emerging spirit of human beings.

The classic example of the value of experience is the progressive understanding of love. A human being will never be able to comprehend the love of the Father if they have not first loved another being during their life. This understanding of love will be progressively illuminated depending on each person's willingness to learn and give their best. A child first discovers love for their parents. Later, when they reach the appropriate age, they may find in romantic love an additional dimension that illuminates their idea of love. Later, when becoming the father or mother of another human being, their understanding of love acquires an even deeper level of meaning, drawing them closer to the love that God the Father feels for all His creatures. The achievement of this knowledge is only possible through life experience and requires natural time to develop. Wise men and women learn very early the value of ‘giving time to time’ when it comes to learning in life.

There is no magical technique that can accelerate the process of understanding eternal truths; only experience grants spiritual wisdom. It is not possible to speed up this process, but it can be made much easier depending on your desire to live according to the Father's will, which is nothing more than learning the lessons that life offers us — the life He has given us to become increasingly perfect and complete beings. If you learn to consider and live your life in this way — as a path to receiving increasingly complete revelations of spiritual truths while acquiring wisdom and progressively perfecting yourself — life becomes an adventure, a journey of exploration where there are unexplored wonders around every corner, available only to those who have developed the necessary curiosity to pay attention and enjoy them.

The best part is that a stimulating life, full of real and lasting satisfactions, can be lived anywhere. A ‘well-lived’ life does not depend on external circumstances, personal or material resources, the time period, culture, or the level of civilization. Living a life full of learning moments that promote healthy spiritual progress depends solely on each individual. It is the human desire to know the Father, to understand His reality and the creation in which we dwell, that opens the doors to receiving God's blessings, which have always been available to all men and women who embark on the adventure of achieving perfection. Truly, there is no more important task nor more glorious endeavor than that of a human being who seeks and eventually manifests their true spiritual self.”

Thought Adjuster: “A human being can know if they have truly succeeded in loving their neighbors when the most beautiful and elevated things they desire for themselves, they sincerely wish for others as well. Kindness, then, is the result of the actions of these loving individuals who strive to ensure that others enjoy the things they enjoy.

This idea removes all confusion about love for others. A love that is based on a hidden desire for recognition and rewards—those who give so that others see how generous they are—does not meet the definition expressed in the previous paragraph. A person who offers food and goods to keep recipients in a state of dependency is not loving according to this definition. Likewise, a person who enjoys sin and wants others to do the same does not meet this definition, as only the most beautiful and elevated things are worth wishing for others.

The love promoted by this definition is free from pretense, from external displays of affection that add no value, free from possessiveness and expectations, filled with wisdom, and fostering intelligent actions that result in the greater good—what is good for all of creation. The service of those who love in this way may not be understood by those who are less spiritual, but the actions and, above all, the intentions of human beings enlightened by this definition of love are always sincere and dynamic, adaptable to every situation, with a refreshing originality.

To others, it may seem that these individuals are not consistent in their actions, but one who has been enlightened by a more complete understanding of love will know when to help and when to step back, when to offer words of comfort and when to shake others out of paralyzing inertia, when to lead those who need guidance and when to leave alone those who must learn to follow their own path. Love is always dynamic, like fresh water that can fill every void into which it flows, simply by its fluid and unrestricted nature.”

Teacher Prolotheos: “True and absolute unity can only be found in the Trinity, in which the diversity of three existential Persons of deity is perfectly unified in one God. To understand unity, consider that there is no need for unity where there is no diversity, and diversity is made of units. In God, and in God’s creation, both diversity and individuality are real. In your quest for unity, make sure you will not destroy individuality, but look for commonalities among you. The vital questions for our message today are: What will unite your world? Which commonalities should you seek? Here are some of them…

“Contemplate first how your origin unites you all in civilization. Families, tribes and nations are all based in a common origin. Ancestry is the most powerful unifying element of the human race. However, when this is viewed in a restricted way, it is also the greatest divider among you. To unite the world you must value foremost the most distinctive origin of all: God. The day on which most humans will realize their common, divine ancestry in the One God, represented by their diverse deity concepts, will be the day when you start the human brotherhood based in the fatherhood of God.

“Next, think of how many goals could unite you in your endeavors. Common goals are capable of uniting you beyond blood. Having common goals is not simply having the same goals. Same goals can be pursued separately, but common goals require your cooperation in their pursuit. However, first the individuals need to espouse the same unifying goals, and then others will join in their worldwide pursuit. Many different goals are capable of unifying human beings, but to keep them together it is necessary to unify them in the supreme goal of doing the will of the God, both as individuals, and as a group.

“Lastly, consider how experience unites you with others, and how common experiences may unite the human race. Unfortunately, they usually are experiences of suffering that unite people, and most often, large unifying efforts come about in times of war. Natural tragedies and noble causes as to minimize the suffering of a particular group of people or nations, also bring about unity among the peoples. Still, the experience which should unite all peoples on Urantia, is the most basic of all – the experience of living. All peoples should basically enjoy good conditions of living, with equal access to employment, housing, health, education and leisure.

“Therefore, my pupil, Urantians already have the resources capable of uniting them – your common origins, common goals and common experiences. Now, use these resources in a global and equal manner to unify you as the human race. Not with seasonal campaigns, but with a program of a global government, with real political and economic power to gradually bring social equality among the nations, which will extinguish poverty and wars that today constitute your most backward features. Realize, once and for all that you are all brothers and sisters, children of one and only loving God. I am Prolotheos, your Teacher and Tutor on High.”

The Scribe: “It is I, your friend, the Scribe. It does me good, yes, it gives me heart, to speak with you as the true friend you are, who knows we each have great value in the eyes of our Creator Father, with my having, at least so far, arrived at the goal of my career and you having barely begun your eternal journey.”

George: “You really never have a very heavy lesson for me. It’s always a chat. You must be a Friend before you are a Teacher.”

The Scribe: “True. In these difficult times on your world it will be appropriate for us to discuss group efforts as distinct from the labors of an individual. The fact that you and your co-travelers function as a group with a common goal — to spread some worthy messages — has as a result that your work can be found in a great many households. Also, since the messages are varied from all (11:11) receivers, it has brought you additionally Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim and Jewish subscribers in numbers. You are successfully reaching out.

“Generally, a less successful method is to go it alone in any venture — being an individual in such endeavors — and here there are pitfalls so often overlooked. As an individual there may be the matter of great pride, even false pride, to contend with. As a member of a group at work there is constant interaction, and far beyond the calculations of almost anyone, it is character-building, it is soul-building. So often an individual can become money-or-prestige oriented, whilst the group can keep so inclined group members focused on the task.

“As a group, Jesus’ women apostles were ever so successful in placing themselves and each other firmly upon a path towards perfection by their teaching and through their nurturing of each other and, of course, their caring for the sick and down-trodden of their world. Keep in mind that in those days all women were seen as second-rate citizens by the population at large and especially by the priests, who taxed them relentlessly, but these lady apostles progressed greatly. Incidently, women’s lots could well improve in your society.

“Even though the myriad Christian religions of today owe their longevity to the male apostles, there are two main aspects to consider. It would have been almost impossible for such a female group to live on, find new members or even be remembered as having existed. No wonder the males were more successful, divided as they were in allowing their message about Jesus to survive. Much of it got twisted and altered to suit the old religions of that time. Jesus words, of a loving Creator Father and a God within, were all but lost.

“Christianity of today remains a suitable starting point for the more detailed Correcting Time/Urantia Papers teachings. Finally, should the Master have gone into hiding to prolong His stay on Urantia, it is certain that more of His apostles would have met with a speedier demise, thus endangering Jesus’ vital teachings. That, my curious friends, was a known potential, a clearly foreseen outcome and a looming future reality. Only in the sense that He needed to keep His apostles and students safer for a time, was His death a sacrifice.”

Sharmon: “Sometimes you cannot change situations — all you can do is deal with them. These situations challenge us to be creative and, as the saying goes, ‘make the best of every situation.’ In doing so, you not only need to adapt your own will to the circumstances but also interact with the wills of others who are already in the process of realization. God, due to His omnipotence, is capable of doing the absolute best in every circumstance, yet always respecting the free will of his creatures. However, lower creatures such as humans, just starting their perfecting career, can only strive for the best and live with it. What does it mean to make the best of each situation?

1. “Look for the Will of God in Any Situation. You can follow the will of God even in the midst of a situation against it. The situation before you could be the result of the choice of another person against the will of God that somehow affects you, but as long as you don’t participate in producing that situation, you can still react to it according to the will of God. To convey the will of God, even to a bad situation, you need to get an insight of the will of God by two ways possible: by following the principles of values of divinity and by following the leading of the Spirit Within. Follow the values of goodness, truth, and beauty and listen to the voice of wisdom of the Spirit Within saying: ‘This is the way’.

2. “Focus on the Well Being of Others Rather than Yours. God the Father is our supreme example of unselfishness. He divested Himself of everything that another being could do and kept for Himself only those prerogatives that would guarantee that those other beings would do exactly these things he bestowed upon them. Following the example of the Father, we keep to us only what is needed to minister goodness, truth, and beauty upon others and so we certainly are doing the best in each circumstance, even if the circumstance is adverse to us in the first place, as Jesus prayed for his executioners: ‘Father, forgive them, because they know not what they do.’

3. “Make of Any Circumstance an Opportunity to be of Service. Many companies, corporations, and businesses in general, have come to the conclusion that a good customer service is key to keep customers coming back for more. Phrases such as ‘How may I help you’ and ‘How may I be of service?’ are essential to good (sincere) customer service. Being available for service and offering your services to whomever needs it, should be our lifestyle to make the best of any situation. In fact, there is no better way to show you care about somebody than to make yourself available for service. Even a potential or actual bad circumstance can become a great opportunity for loving service to others.

“Not all circumstances are bad, so just receive the good ones with a big and sincere ‘Thank You’. For those situations that come to you with malice, or are prone to hurt you, react to them according to the will of God, focusing on the wellbeing of others first, rather than yours, and try to make them an opportunity for service. Your reaction is also part of the situation. Make it count for the showing of the Fatherhood of God and the growing of the Brotherhood of Human Beings on Urantia. And by the way, on making the best of everything, don’t forget about being charming — as Jesus was when with us, and still is, in all His dealings.”

Prolotheos: “A human being reaches sexual maturity – gains the capacity to reproduce – when puberty arrives around the 13th year of life. However, a boy or girl at 13 years of age is clearly not yet mature enough in life. They are not prepared for life. Experience is essential to maturity, and you simply cannot skip it. Either you are mature, or you are not. Unfortunately, some people do not seek life experiences that will contribute to their personal maturity; and so it does not matter how old they are, they will never mature. Maturity, then, is a process in which several factors must coincide. Some of these, however, are most essential in anyone reaching maturity.

 

“The first ‘essential ingredient’ for maturity in life is to accruement of bona fide experiences. As well, there are experiences that are altogether pointless. Usually these kinds of experiences are the ones that result from one’s seeking temporal pleasures, animal urges, gratification of vain desires, or selfish realization of will. Bona fide experiences are the ones that are the result of seeking superior realization of values and understanding of higher meanings. People searching for values and meanings are not just seeking knowledge. They are seeking wisdom. Bona fide experiences can be both intense events and cumulative achievements that produce an experiential balance in facing life and its vicissitudes.

 

“Maturity in life is the fruit of meaningful personality unification. Personality is evident by function of will. It is in charge of existential unification, either the individual is conscious of it, or he or she is not. However, in its attempt to unify choices, factors that are naturally incompatible may render the individual psychologically awry, and produce a deviant character, which may favor evil and malevolence. The personality unification that produces ethical maturity is the one that, together with achievement of bona fide values and meanings, brings a balance to the physical, emotional and intellectual factors resident in a particular individual. Meaningful personality unification starts its realization when a person sincerely decides to do the will of God in his or her life.

 

“Finally, maturity comes to a human being when he or she lets spiritual primacy take over in all aspects of life. That is what we call spiritual maturity, which cannot be reached without the poise and conscience of the individual, and of both the Spirit Within and the spiritual self, the soul. The spiritual dominance happens when the soul, as the receptacle of all spiritual growth, produced by the conjoint action of Spirit Within and the individual self, and by means of the human will, finally governs all actions of a person with a spiritual purpose and meaning. Spiritual dominance is a constant awareness of the spiritual value of life in all its aspects.

 

“Therefore, my pupil, your personal maturity is a multi-faceted process that culminates in spiritual maturity. Seek out the experiences whose meanings will remain with you for all eternity. Among those, undoubtedly, are the ones motivated by love, truth and beauty. Spiritual maturity is not gained automatically; it is personal¸ and it depends of each decision you make, reaffirming the spiritual priority in all you do.
