Your Unique Path

Your Unique Path

Dear friends, I am Jeshua,

I was the representative of the Christ Energy on Earth at a time when that energy was not welcomed or understood. But it was necessary to sow the seeds of that energy so as to give an impulse to consciousness. The collective consciousness at that time had became stuck and stagnant. When energy or consciousness stagnates, it increases the pain and suffering in humans, and so it becomes increasingly difficult for people to connect with their soul and to absorb any sparks of its light.

The more that fear and ignorance prevail, the more people remain deprived of a connection with their souls: the living source of all their creativity. Everything you truly choose and create out of freedom – not determined by your circumstances, your youth, or your other lives – comes from the soul as the source of that creation. The greatest threat to the collective consciousness of the Earth and humankind is that individuals lose the connection with their souls: their inner creative source. When that happens, humans lose their center and become fragmented, and as a result they become the playthings of outer influences – of fears, especially – and then they tend to rigidly adhere to the existing order.

A person who lacks a soul connection seeks certainty by belonging to, and desiring direction from, the existing order, the social circles of which he or she is part. Through meeting outward expectations, one seeks acceptance and certainty. This, however, is a wrong path that leads a person astray because, at this time, the collective consciousness on Earth demands renewal, change, and the unlocking of new paths.

You are essentially doing what I did in my time, although now there are more openings in the collective field around the Earth. There is a broader impulse that can grow into a heart-borne consciousness in which unity is again felt between all that is alive: between humans and also between humans and nature. You all are being moved by this sincere desire to contribute to this consciousness change that is coming from your soul.

When you feel that call in your soul, it is a sign that your heart is awakening, and that you are connecting to deeper layers in yourself. It takes courage to follow your soul and to free yourself from the expectations of parents, family, friends, colleagues, and working conditions. The way inward – restoring the connection with your own soul – requires courage and the ability to bear your pain consciously, and also to honestly face your own fears which undoubtedly arise when you turn inward.

When you awaken, when you hear the call of your soul, it often happens that life seems to get more difficult, more burdensome. And that is because you become very conscious of your fear and your compulsive wanting to adapt, of your desire to be recognized and to not be rejected. You will be confronted with this fear when you begin to follow the whisperings of your soul. When you follow your unique path, you will be challenged in all sorts of areas: in relations with your family, with your loved ones, in your work, in everything.

I ask you to be very gentle with, and respectful of, yourself. Following the path of your soul makes you vulnerable, sensitive, open, yet herein lies your great power – a vulnerable person is infinitely more creative and vital than a restricted one. But to be able to bear this vulnerability in this harsh world, it is necessary to appreciate what you are and to surround yourself with the attention and care you need as an awakened person. You can not expect to be understood and supported by your surroundings. If you take a step out of the mass consciousness, you stand alone. So it is of great importance to realize who you are and what your role is and, as I said, to surround yourself with attention and care.

I ask you to do that now by going inward with your attention and descending with your breath to your abdomen. Withdraw your attention from your surroundings and instead focus completely on the presence of yourself. Feel the field of energy that surrounds you and belongs to you. Become aware of your feet on the ground, your connection with the Earth. Feel the energy of Mother Earth and feel how she recognizes you. She is a living vital creature with tremendous intelligence, a very old “knowing”. Feel how she welcomes you and wants to help you complete your soul’s mission, your soul’s path. The Earth is there to support you. In part, the Earth is in you through your body of flesh and blood. Your body carries in itself the language and intelligence of the Earth, of Gaia. Connect with this earthly aspect of yourself.

The cells of your body are made of earthly substances, of matter, but their driving force and source is your soul. Your unique soul is the true creator of your living body. There is a collaboration between the natural power of the Earth and your soul. The body that you now inhabit is a manifestation of these two forces, so observe your body with reverence. Release all the outer judgments you may have about your body. Feel the inner life and the divine nature of your body; become aware of the presence of your soul in your body. Your soul is in your body, not somewhere far above or outside you. Without your soul, your body would not exist. Imagine that in every cell of your body, the intelligence and information of your soul is present as sparks of light. Feel that light flow throughout your entire body. Welcome your soul in your body.

Then see if there is a place in your body that feels tense or painful; where there is something that makes you suffer. Is there a place in your body or in your energy field that attracts your attention; where you feel the flow of your soul is stagnate or blocked? Let that place become aware of itself. And if you want to do so you can make an image appear that suits this stagnant energy, something that gives you understanding about this blockage. Feel what is there and look at it lovingly. You do not have to do anything about it. Just feel it and observe where it blocks you, and look at it with gentleness.

You may see a child in that blocked or stagnant part; a child who belongs to you, an inner child who would like to free itself, but is burdened by certain fears and judgments. See if you can open to that child by asking it what it would take to be able to express itself in the world and to develop more freely. Imagine you are seeing this child. Realize that healing begins immediately when you connect with a blocked part in yourself in this way. If you look freely and openly, observing without judgment, at the dark parts in yourself, love flows. And this in itself is healing: a part that is lost comes back to you. Let this happen. Receive the child into yourself who has become lost or held back. It is a source of life and wants to come to you.

Now I want to say something about the lightwork you do in the world. When you go deep within yourself, and examine and confront the dark parts of yourself, you are also doing something for the collective consciousness. You dig a new path, you open up new opportunities for the greater field of consciousness to be lifted to another level, one of more openness, warmth, love. This road that sometimes seems very lonely, asks for courage and direction and not just for yourself. What you have to give to others, ultimately, is your own path of development, the way you have traveled with much pain and effort.

The healing and transformation that is yours to complete is your greatest gift to humanity. You can do all kinds of things to develop yourself: obtain skills, training, and tools to be at your disposal, but the essence of what you share is you – which is your unique soul linked with your earthly personality and the integration and transformation you have accomplished internally. This is the light that you radiate, a unique light that is your own.

No one walks the same path. Your unique light attracts certain people and, at the same time, you attract possibilities on your own path, both in private and in the field of endeavor. So even when you go outward again from that connection with your soul, as you manifest in the world, remain very conscious of the creative source within you: the soul within you.

Also, when it comes to lightwork, it is the intention that you follow your unique path and not adapt too much to existing standards and ideas. You need to be aware of what suits you, the form in which you serve, and not so much what it is that you serve. This is what I am pointing to when I say: take yourself seriously and pay attention to taking care of yourself as a lightworker. You are, and remain, vulnerable and sensitive, just because you are so brave in following your inner way

Now imagine for a moment your unique gift or gifts to this world that stem from the flow of your soul. See them as a flower that radiates its light outward from your heart. Discover the flower in the center of your heart that reflects your energy. Imagine that you share with the world, with society, this precious energy born from your inner transformation. See what that flow appears like. Do you feel that this unique energy, which belongs to your path, finds its way into your work, into your relationships in the world around you? Or do you feel that you are holding something back? And also observe how this energy, this radiant flower in your heart, is received by the people around you.

Imagine you are facing a person who is very important to you and that you give out to that person, from your heart, the energy of your flower. See if that person can actually receive it; whether he or she offers resistance to it or is open to it – and look without judgement. This also can be done with the work that you do: feel whether your energy can flow out in a certain place, or in a particular situation, and if it is actually received; which is to say understood and appreciated. This is important. Please treat yourself with care and respect. Preserve and cherish the flower in your heart that is so very valuable.

Finally, I ask you to feel my presence. I am not alone here. You all are surrounded by loving guides who support you on your path, as a human and as a lightworker. You are surrounded by light and support from non-earthly spheres. You are so loved. Feel the respect and care that comes from our sphere to you. And treat yourself in the same way.

I greet you from inner connectedness. Know that I am never far away. We are one.

The Time for Harvesting

The Time for Harvesting

Dear friends, I am Jeshua.

I greet you all. I am with you from a deep resonance. We walk the same path, and you are with me. I was a kind of flag-bearer in the time in which I lived. I planted seeds, but it was never intended that I would do this alone. What I did was not something by myself. What I did was connected with a soul group of kindred spirits to which you belong.

This is a time for harvesting. Through planting and growing, through the germination of seeds, through the rising up of new shoots, a new light is brought into this world, and you are those germinating seeds and shoots. You are connected with me in the grand field of the Christ energy. What is the most precious thing that is developing during this time is who you are.

You often think that the biggest difference is made by what you do or set down in the world, but that is not the case. Rather, it is what and who you are that makes all the difference; that is what creates an opening in the collective consciousness on Earth. By being too fixated on specific goals outside yourself – on what you want to achieve in this world – you move away from your core, your foundation, which is where the transformation is taking place. It is what is most needed in this world.

It is important that you recognize the inner world – the world of your feelings, your psyche, your thoughts – as the primary source of all creation. You have become indoctrinated by a worldview in which the inner – the intuitive and the spiritual – is neglected. There is an excessive focus on the outer world, on the material. And when you go along with that, you undermine your own powers of creation, because the source of each enduring creation is always inside you. You are not dependent on forces outside you, and your realizing this is a big step, because it sets you free from the outer world, which then loses its power over you.

When you realize deeply, from your divine core, that you are a creator, the social rules and ideas, the fears that are prevalent in society, gradually lose their influence over you. That is also the message that you are bringing to people in this world. Nothing brings a person into their own strength more than does the realization that he or she is the center of their own world, and that from there you attract and create what is right for you. Thus, the energy of fear and illusion loses its influence over you. This is the true breakthrough everyone is looking for.

I ask you to now connect with your heart. When I am speaking about the heart, I am not talking about the physical heart, but about something much more vast and deep; namely that part of you, your unique soul, which is connected to the whole, which vibrates in a field of love that is your home, the place where you belong. Your physical heart is the most visible material manifestation of this inner center, but it is no more than that. Your true heart is much more vast and not bound by time and space.

The love in your heart surpasses the material, transcends physical life. It makes you really great, and also allows you to be safe. Because through this love you are connected to the Christ energy: a field of love that is infinitely more powerful than any fearful image or all the material things in the world. Feel this field now. Call it up in your own heart and sense clearly that you are much greater than an earthly body, an earthly personality. Your soul has chosen you in order to grow through you in this life, to experience, to work. This grand power of your soul is available to you as a source of wisdom.

Now, go with your attention to your heart center and feel who you are. Also sense the talents and gifts that you have developed in other lives, because the heart operates from a timeless awareness and has access to all the varied manifestations or incarnations you have ever had. Feel the energy of your heart come to you and surround you. Let it shine light upon a problem that you are experiencing in your everyday life. Many problems arise or become bigger as you become fixated on external things, or on your own body, on the tangible, the physical. You want to find solutions on that level. But by connecting with your greater core, with your heart-consciousness, you will get access to sources of wisdom that can help you much more.

The solution is never on the material plane; it is within you. Descend all the way to that level, and see a flame of light in the middle of your heart center. This light connects you to the Christ field, which protects you and cares for you – allow it to enfold you. Feel that you do not depend on powers outside yourself; feel that you can live from ease and love, from lightness. You have been so indoctrinated with thoughts of fear, struggle, and survival that it seems impossible to live from lightness, gentleness, and love. This is the shadow that hangs over all of you: the belief in fear, struggle, and control.

I ask you to open your heart to that larger reality that is there and that carries you. Imagine that the light energy from this larger reality enters through your heart, and further through your body and your energy field. Let the light flow through your heart and descend into your solar plexus … and further into your abdomen … and into your root chakra in your tailbone … and even further down through your legs to your feet. Feel your own power. It is not a hard force; it is not a power of resistance or struggle. The time has passed that you had to be in conflict with the outer world.

There is another power within you that can help you realize what you deeply desire. But that power is not of a dual nature, one of struggling against something. Feel the power of this force, and go to where you experience a problem that gives you concern, makes you worry and think. Go to where you feel you are losing your strength, that you are not able to live with joy but have the feeling of being threatened by something outside you, something you do not understand, or by something that keeps arising and never seems to be able to get resolved. There is a kind of knot in your energy, in your thoughts about your own powers of creation. There is a sense of powerlessness. There is a blind spot in you.

Feel the great power of love. Look at your life and ask yourself: “Where do I experience love the most? In which activity or with what person or at what moments do I experience a feeling of sincere joy and happiness?  Where do I feel at home, relaxed?” I mean times when you literally feel lighter, when your body vibrates at a higher level. Look for yourself where and in which situation you feel that the most, and take that as your criterion or guide.

Love gives you energy, makes you creative and at the same time free of worries. Then you are confident, and in an almost childlike way you become happy. This is a great strength; do not underestimate it. Search for that kind of feeling as much as possible in your life. Let go of doing battle, and find the brightest sides in your life and feed that energy. Then you free forces in yourself which give you deeper connection with your own soul wisdom; then you magnetize others – like attracts like.

Secrets of the Channel to the Primal Source

Secrets of the Channel to the Primal Source

Dear friends, I am Jeshua, representative of the Christ energy that is now being born on Earth through you.

Individuals who find their way on Earth by opening their hearts to their true destiny. It is everyone’s vocation to connect their soul with the Earth. Then a force is freed that accompanies you and lifts and helps you to be your true self.

In you lives a seed, a flame, a unique contribution that is yours to deliver to the whole. You are here to deeply sense the unique energy that is yours on Earth – this is your role. But on your way, your path in life is often all too hampered by fears. You are taught not to be yourself, so you adapt to social prejudices and wishes. And because of that, many people keep their soul’s energy imprisoned inside themselves and do not express it in their daily lives, in their work, in their relationships, and this causes suffering and pain.

Your soul wants nothing more than to be known to you, to present itself to you by way of your feelings and through your desires. Through your deepest passions, the soul wants to let you know that it is there and wants to flow out into the earthly reality. But through your mental processes and your confused emotions, that flow outward becomes blocked. You are then going to feel lost and lonely, and you do not understand the meaning of life or to where it leads. This loneliness and confusion is active in most people; therefore, there is a collective atmosphere of fear and confusion on Earth.

At this time, there exist seeds of consciousness for a new beginning, and you are involved with this process and want to contribute to it. There is a memory in your soul because you are not here for the first time, and this time you want to hold on to this soul memory and to not forget it while you walk the Earth. You are here to take your soul’s journey, which is, in a sense, to return to the beginning, to the origin from which you emerged.

Imagine that you were born from an immense Sun of indivisible light, an infinite source of life, strength, and joy. The life force within that source, that Sun, was so great that it had to explode and expand, as it were, into many small particles, each of which carries the potential to become like the Sun itself. In this way, Creation increases by giving itself away endlessly and sowing itself out into the universe, into the void, into nothingness.

Each of you is a spark of light born from this Sun. If you are coming from this Sun, you carry the Sun within you, you are part of the Sun; you are not different from it, you are the same, but at the same time you stand alone. You have something that is unique and  cannot be compared to any other spark of the Sun. Can you imagine how magical and great that is? You carry in you the essence of the Sun and at the same time something new that is only you. It is your destiny to express what is new, to investigate and explore it while at the same time remaining connected with the Sun, with your origin.

It is this origin that you often forget: the fact that you are one with the source of life. When you forget this origin, the source that connects you to the One, then you are lonely and you do not want to be unique at all; you want to stay connected with what you are most familiar, with what you have known. And in earthly terms, that means you want to adapt and to not be different, you want to belong to the collective whole, which is reflected in the ways of thinking and the beliefs that exist on Earth. However, the collective whole does not reflect your origin, the Sun. It is a very poor version of what true connection and oneness are, because much of it is based on fear and survival and that is not the true whole, the whole to which you really belong.

In your essence, you know that you have come here to bring something new. That you have come to shake up and wake up the collective whole on Earth and to enlighten it with your unique contribution. Concretely, what this means is that you are different, that you have taken upon yourself a certain loneliness, and that you need to connect to your own divine core. You need to bring back the Sun into the midst of a reality that does not directly reflect or nourish you. For this reason, I have great respect for you. I am aware of the loneliness that you can experience on Earth: the confusion and the cold.

I want to tell you today that there is a being, a power, that unconditionally supports you on your path here on Earth toward remembering your true self, that primal spark. This being is Mother Earth. She is very directly observable around you; she is present in nature. But the spirit of the Earth is also present in you, in your body, in all your cells. Because of the many false ideas in society, you no longer see your Mother Earth as a living being, as a soul, but rather like a dead thing that can be employed merely for industry and consumption.

By killing the spirit of the Earth, you also do it to yourselves, because through the aliveness of nature and the inspiration therein, you directly experience connection with the primal source, the light, the life. The Earth is a Messenger of that primal source. The Earth, as a planet, captures sunlight and through that, life itself. The Earth is in close relationship with the Sun and that relationship is more than just physical. It also symbolizes the relationship between God and humans, the Sun and an incarnated human being.

Make a connection with the soul of the Earth; your entire body is equipped to do so. Through your senses, your heart and your emotions, you can feel the soul of all living beings around you, their sounds and colors and beauty. Open yourself to the heart of the Earth!  Feel yourself coming home. Remember a place in nature that you like very much or where you are happy and relaxed; recall the atmosphere of it. See if you can come up with a place by the sea or in the woods that appeals to you. Do not concern yourself with details, but feel the atmosphere, the peace and inner wisdom in nature – she is a living being. Then consider your own body as part of that place, of that atmosphere.

Your body also carries wisdom within itself; although not mentally, not in words. It is a stream, a flow of soft nudges that helps you connect with your soul and with the field of Unity. Now connect with that undercurrent in your body. Your body does not feel separated from the Source. Just as do the animals and plants, your body knows; it feels connected to the whole, to the Sun. You are the one who has doubts, not your body. Feel the Earth force in your body, in your bones and your muscles.

Now allow this force to give you a message, a signal that comes up from your body about what you need in your life. It does not have to come to you in words, you can also suddenly have a desire for something, or a reminder can arise, or a picture may appear. Allow it to unfold quietly. Rely on Mother Earth; she knows you very well. The body in which you live is a unique fusion between your soul and Mother Earth. It is a precious gift, a source of knowledge, so respect your body. Be assured that you are able to find your way outside the well-trodden path. You will not fit into many social systems; your path will be different and that is the purpose, but feel the support from Mother Earth.

Look again with your attention, with your awareness, inside your heart. There you will find a direct connection with who you are as a soul. And who you are as a soul remains very close to you; it lives in all your body cells. You cannot get to your soul with your head, only with your feelings. It is necessary that you let go of everything and become very still inside, and simply say “yes” to your soul. If you give permission to yourself, you will find a way for your soul to manifest more fully through you. Feel the light of the Sun in your heart. You are never alone; you are always connected to the Source.

Thank you so much for your presence.

Dealing with emotions

Dealing with emotions

Jeshua Speaks

Dear friends, I am delighted to be among you again and to communicate with you in this way. I must say that this means a lot to me as well. I cherish these meetings for in this way I can come closer to you than from my own plane of reality.

Yet I always live inside your hearts and I wait for moments in your time when you are open and susceptible to my energy. My energy, the Christ energy that is being reborn in this time, is not solely my energy. It is not simply the energy of one man who lived on earth at one time; it is a collective energy field in which you take part in a way that is more profound than you realize.

You all made a vow once, you all set your intention to carry this energy forth into the reality of earth, to anchor it in earth. Many lifetimes, many centuries, you have worked on this mission. You are all in the process of birthing the Christ seed within and I am helping you. I was a forerunner, yet the sowing of the Christ seed was a collective effort. Even my coming to earth was possible only because of the field of energy that was present here, woven by you. We work together, we are a unity. Therefore I am accessible to all of you. I am not exclusively available to any one person. I am at the service of all of you.

Today I want to speak about an issue that touches you deeply and frequently in your day to day life. It is about dealing with emotions.

Last time I spoke about the energies of the male and the female which run through your energy field and chakras. I have emphasized the importance of healing the lowest three chakras as a part of becoming whole and complete unto yourself. I thought it was important to emphasize this as some of you who crave the spiritual tend to withdraw yourself, both in thought and feeling, to the higher chakras.

The heart, the third eye and the crown chakra are attractive to you, because these energy centers connect you with the higher realms that are so natural to you. But the real inner breakthroughs must now occur on a lower level, in the area of the lower chakras, closer to earth.

The area of the emotions is a vital area in your growth process towards freedom and wholeness. You are spiritual beings. You come from a plane of reality where the density and coarseness of earth reality was unknown to you. To cope with this has been difficult.

Throughout many lives you have tried to express your cosmic energy here on earth. And in this expression, in the channeling of your energy to earth, many deep traumas have been built up. The emotional body that you all have is rife with wounds and traumas. Of that I wish to speak today.

Anyone who walks the path of inner growth knows the importance of emotions: that you should not repress them, that you have to come to terms with them in some way, that you must ultimately release them. But how it all really works is not always so clear.

I first want to make a distinction between emotions and feelings. I am not concerned here with specific terms or labels and you may call it by different names, but I want to make a distinction between emotions in the sense of energies that are essentially expressions of misunderstanding and feelings or energies that are a form of higher understanding.

Feelings are your teachers, while emotions are your children.

Emotions are energies that have a clear manifestation in the physical body. Emotions are reactions to things that you do not really understand. Consider what happens when you are overcome by a fit of rage. For instance someone hurts your feelings unexpectedly and you feel yourself becoming angry. You can feel this very clearly in your body; in certain places you feel the energy go tense. This physical tension or tightening that follows the energetic shock shows there is something you do not understand. There is an energy coming toward you that you feel is unjustified. The feeling of being treated unjustly, in short the not-understanding, is vented through the emotion. The emotion is the expression of the not-understanding, it is an energetic explosion and a release.

When this happens, you are confronted with the following choice: what am I going to do with this emotion? Am I going to base my actual behavior on it? Am I going to use this as fuel for my reactions to other people or do I let the emotion be and base my actions on something else?

Before answering this question, I want to explain the nature of feelings.

Emotions are essentially explosions of misunderstanding that you can clearly perceive in the body. Feelings, on the other hand, are of a different nature and are perceived differently as well. Feelings are more quiet than emotions. They are the whispers of the soul that reach you through gentle nudges, an inner knowingness or a sudden intuitive action that later appears to have been very wise.

Emotions always have something very intense and dramatic to them. Consider anxiety attacks, fear, rage or deep sadness. Emotions take hold of you completely and pull you away from your spiritual center. In the moment you are highly emotional, you are full of a kind of energy that pulls you away from your center, your inner clarity. In that sense, emotions are like clouds hovering before the sun.

With this, I do not want to say anything against emotions. Emotions should not be repressed; they are very valuable as a means to get to know yourself more intimately. But I do want to state what the nature of emotional energy is: it is an explosion of misunderstanding. Emotions essentially take you out of your center.

Feelings, on the other hand, bring you deeper into yourself, into your center. Feelings are closely associated with what you call intuition. Feelings express a higher understanding, a kind of understanding that transcends both the emotions and the mind.

Feelings originate in a non-physical realm, outside of the body. That is why they are not so clearly located within one spot of the physical body. Consider what happens when you sense something, an atmosphere or a mood, or when you have presentiments about a situation. There is a kind of knowingness within you then that seems to come from the outside and that is not a reaction from you to something external. It comes “out of nothing” (“out of the blue” as you so beautifully put it). In such a moment, you may feel something open up in your heart chakra.

There are many moments in which such an inner knowingness comes to you. For instance, you may “know” something about someone without having really talked with him or her. You can sense something about the two of you that later on will play an important role in your relationship. Such things are not easy to grasp in words – “simply a feeling” – and certainly not easily understood by the mind. (These are the moments in which your mind gets skeptical, telling you that you are making things up or are going crazy).

I would like to mention another energy that has more of a “feeling” nature than an emotional one. It is joy. Joy can be a phenomenon that transcends the emotional. Sometimes you can feel a kind of joy inside that lifts you up without a particular reason. You feel the divinity inside you and your intimate connection to all that exists. Such a feeling may come to you when you least expect it. It is as if Something Greater touches you or as if you touch a Greater Reality. Feelings are not so easily summoned and seem to come to you “out of the blue.” Emotions almost always have a clear immediate cause: a trigger in the outside world that “pushes your buttons.”

Feelings originate from the dimension of your Higher or Greater Self. You need to be quiet inside to catch those whispers in your heart. Emotions can disturb this inner silence and peace. Therefore it is vital to become emotionally calm and to heal and release repressed emotions. Only from your feeling which connects you to your soul can you make balanced decisions.

By being quiet and peaceful, you can feel with all of your being what is right for you at a certain moment. Making decisions based on emotions is making decisions from a non-centered position. You need to release the emotions first and get in touch with your inner core where there is clarity.

Now I want to go into the question of how you can best deal with your emotions.

I said that “feelings are your teachers and emotions are your children.” The parallels between “being emotional” and “being like a child” are striking. Your “inner child” is the seat of your emotions. Also there is a striking resemblance between the way you deal with your own emotions and the way you deal with real children.

Children are honest and spontaneous in their emotions and they do not hide or repress them until adults encourage them to do so. The fact that children spontaneously express their emotions does not however mean that children experience their emotions in a balanced way. Everyone knows that children can be carried away by their emotions (rage, fear or sadness) and are often unable to put a stop to them. In such a situation, the child can almost drown in their emotions and that makes them unbalanced, i.e. out-of-center.

One of the reasons for this unbounded emotionality is that the child has only recently left a world in which there are hardly any boundaries. In the ethereal or astral dimensions, there were no such restrictions and limitations as there are in the physical realm, within the physical body. The child’s emotions are often “reactions of misunderstanding” to this physical reality. Therefore when he or she grows up, the child needs help and support in dealing with their emotions. This is part of the process of “balanced incarnating” on earth.

So how do you deal with emotions, whether in yourself or in your children?

Emotions should not be judged or repressed. Emotions are a vital part of you as a human being and as such they need to be respected and accepted. You can look upon your emotions as your children who need your attention and respect and your guidance.

An emotion can best be viewed as an energy that comes to you for healing. Therefore it is important to not be completely swept away by the emotion, but to remain able to look at it from a neutral stance. It is important to stay conscious. One might put it like this; you should not repress an emotion, but you should not drown in it either. For when you drown in it, when you identify with it completely, the child in you becomes a tyrant that will lead you astray.

The most important thing you can do with an emotion is to allow it in, to feel all aspects of it while not losing your consciousness. Take for instance anger. You can invite anger to be fully present, experiencing it in your body at several places, while you are at the same time neutrally observing it. Such a type of consciousness is healing. What happens in this instance is that you embrace the emotion, which is essentially a form of misunderstanding, with understanding. This is spiritual alchemy.

Let me explain with the help of an example. Your child has bumped her knee on the table and it really hurts. She is upset, screaming with pain and she kicks the table because she is angry with it. She considers the table to be the source of her pain.

Emotional guidance at this moment means that the parent first helps the child name her experience. “You are angry, aren’t you – you are in pain, right?” Naming it is essential. You transfer the root of the problem from the table to the child herself. “It’s not in the table, it is you who are hurt, it is you who is angry. And yes, I understand your emotion!”

The parent embraces the emotion of the child with understanding, with love. The moment the child feels understood and recognized, her anger will gradually fade away. The physical pain may still be present. But her resistance to the pain, the anger around it, can dissolve. The child reads compassion and understanding in your eyes, and this relaxes and soothes her emotions. The table, the cause of the emotions, is not relevant anymore.

In embracing an emotion with understanding and compassion, you shift the focus of the child’s attention from outside to inside, and you teach the child to take responsibility for the emotion. You are showing her that her reaction to an outside trigger is not a given, but that it is a matter of choice. You can choose misunderstanding or understanding. You can choose to fight or to accept. You can choose.

This also applies to the relationship with your own emotions, your own inner child. Allowing your emotions in, naming them and making an effort to understand them, means that you truly respect and cherish your inner child. Making the shift from “outer” to “inner,” taking responsibility for the emotion, helps to create an inner child that does not want to hurt anyone else, that does not feel victimized. Strong emotions – whether anger, grief or fear – always have the component of powerlessness, i.e. the sense that you are the victim of something outside of you. What you do when you focus not on the circumstances outside of you but instead on your reaction and your pain is that you “dismiss” the outside world as the cause of your emotions. You do not care that much about what gave rise to the emotion. You completely turn inward and you say to yourself: okay, this has been my reaction and I understand why. I understand why I feel the way that I do and I am going to support myself in this.

Turning toward your emotions in such a loving manner is liberating. It does require a kind of self-discipline. Releasing outside reality as the “source of the evil” and taking full responsibility yourself means that you acknowledge that “you choose to react a certain way.” You stop arguing about who is right and who is wrong, who is to blame for what and you simply release the whole chain of events that happened outside of your control. “I now experience this emotion in the full awareness that I choose to do so.” That is taking responsibility. That is courage!

The self-discipline in this is that you give up on being righteous and on being the helpless victim. You give up on feeling angry, misunderstood and all the other expressions of victimhood that can feel quite good at some times. (Truly, you often cherish the emotions that bug you the most). Taking responsibility is an act of humbleness. It means being honest with yourself, even at your weakest moment.

This is the self-discipline that is asked of you. At the same time, this kind of turning inward requires the highest compassion. The emotion you are honestly prepared to face as your own creation is also looked upon with gentle understanding. “You chose anger this time, didn’t you?” Compassion tells you: “Okay, I can see why and I forgive you. Perhaps when you feel my love and support more clearly you will not feel inclined to take that response next time.”

This is the true role of consciousness in self-healing. This is what spiritual alchemy means. Consciousness does not fight or reject anything; it encircles darkness with awareness. It encircles the energies of misunderstanding with understanding and thus transforms ordinary metal into gold. Consciousness and love are essentially the same. Being conscious means letting something be and surrounding it with your love and compassion.

Often you think that “consciousness alone” is not enough to overcome your emotional problems. You say: I know I have repressed emotions, I know the cause of it, I am aware but it does not go away.

In that case, there is a subtle resistance within you to that emotion. You keep the emotion at a distance, from fear of being overwhelmed by it. But you are never overwhelmed by an emotion when you consciously choose to allow it.

As long as you keep the emotion at a distance, you are at war with it. You are fighting the emotion and it will turn against you in several ways. You cannot keep it outside in the end. It will manifest itself in your body as an ache or tension or as a feeling of depression. Feeling down or weary frequently is a clear sign that you are repressing certain emotions.

The thing is that you need to allow the emotions to fully enter your consciousness. If you do not know exactly what emotions are there, you can very well start by feeling the tensions in your body. This is a gateway to the emotions. In your body it is all stored. For instance, if you feel pain or tension in the area of your stomach, you can go there with your awareness and ask what is the matter. Let the cells of your body speak to you. Or imagine that right there, a child is present. Ask the child to show you what emotion is predominant in him or her.

There are several ways to connect with your emotions. It is vital to realize that the energy that got stuck in the emotion wants to move. This energy wants to be released and therefore it knocks at your door as a physical complaint or as a feeling of stress or depression. For you it is a matter of really opening up and being prepared to feel the emotion.

Emotions are part of your earthly reality – but they should not get a hold over you. Emotions are like clouds for the sun. Therefore it is so important to be aware of your emotions and to deal with them consciously. From a clear and balanced emotional body, it is much easier to contact your soul or inner core through your intuition.

In your society, there is much confusion about emotions. This is evident, among other things, from the amount of debate and confusion there is about how to raise your children. Children clearly are much more emotionally spontaneous than you are as adults. This creates difficulties. What if some of your moral boundaries are crossed? What if the situation gets out of hand and chaos arises? Does one have to discipline children or let them express themselves freely? Do their emotions have to be controlled or not?

What is important in a child’s upbringing is that they learn to understand their emotions, to understand where they come from and to take responsibility for them. With your help, the child can learn to see their emotions as “explosions of misunderstanding.” This understanding prevents your child from “drowning” in their emotions and going out of control. Understanding liberates and brings you back to your own center without repressing the emotions. The parent teaches their child to deal with emotions in this way by being the living example of it.

All the questions you have about dealing with your children also apply to yourself. How do you cope with your own emotions? Are you hard on yourself? When you feel angry or sad for some time, do you discipline yourself by saying: “Come on, get yourself together and move on”? Do you suppress the emotion? Do you feel that disciplining yourself is good and necessary? Who taught you this? Was it a parent?

Or do you go to the other side? Do you wallow in your emotion, not wanting to let go of it. This also is frequently the case. You may have felt for a long time that you were a victim of some situation outside of you, for example your upbringing, your partner or your work environment. At a certain moment, it may have been very liberating to get in touch with the anger inside you about the negative things that influenced you. Anger can enable you to break free from these influences and go your own way. However you may get so enamored with your anger that you do not want to give it up anymore. Instead of becoming a doorway, it becomes a way of living. A form of victimhood then arises which is anything but healing. It holds you back from truly standing in your own power.

It is very important to take responsibility for your own emotions and not to make absolute truths of them. When you give them the status of truths, instead of looking upon them as “explosions of misunderstanding,” you will base your actions on them and that will lead to uncentered decisions.

The same happens with children who are allowed too much emotional freedom. They run wild and become uncontrollable; they become little tyrants and that is not right. Emotional chaos is just as unpleasant for the child as it is for the parent.

In short you can either be too strict or too lenient in dealing with your emotions (and, by analogy, with your children). I want to go a little more into the “lenient” way, for that seems to be more of an issue nowadays. Since the sixties there has been a collective realization that it will not do to suppress your emotions, for then you are stifling your spontaneity and creativity, indeed your very soul. Society will produce disciplined and obedient children who care more for rules than the whispers of the heart and that is a tragedy – for society as well as the individual.

But what about that other extreme: what about justifying emotions in such a way that they take over and rule your life?

You can very well observe inside you whether there are emotions that you cherish in such a way that you regard them as truth instead of what they really are: explosions of misunderstanding. These are emotions you have identified with. The paradox is that often enough, these are emotions that cause you much suffering. For instance: powerlessness (“I cannot help it”), control (“I’ll handle it”), anger (“it’s their fault”) or grief (“life is miserable”). These are all emotions that are painful but yet, on another level, they give you something special to hold on to.

Take powerlessness or the “victim feeling.” There can be advantages to this emotional pattern. It may give you a sense of safety. It releases you from certain obligations or responsibilities. “I can’t help it, can I?” It is a dark corner you’re sitting in but it seems a safe one. The danger of identifying or “merging” with such an emotional pattern for a long time is that you lose touch with your own true freedom, your innermost divine core.

Things may have entered your life path that have justifiably provoked emotions of anger and resentment within you. This may have happened in your youth, later on or even in past lives. It is very important that you get in touch with these emotions consciously and that you become aware of the anger, sadness or any other intensely charged energy within you. But at a certain point, you need to take responsibility for your emotions, for they constitute your reactions to an outside event.

Being centered, being in a state of clarity and spiritual balance, means that you take full responsibility for all the emotions that are in you. You can then recognize the emotion of, for instance, anger within you and say at the same time: this was my reaction to certain events. I surround this reaction with understanding, but at the same time I intend to release it.

Life is ultimately not about being right; it is about being free and whole. It is very liberating to release old emotional responses that have grown into a lifestyle.

One might say that it is all about the subtle middle road between suppressing emotions and drowning in them. On both sides, you have been raised with opinions and ideals that are not in accordance with the nature of spiritual alchemy. The essence of spiritual growth is that you do not suppress anything, but at the same time you take full responsibility for it. I feel this, I choose this reaction, so I can heal it. Claiming your mastership – that is what my message is about truly.

Perhaps it is not really a middle road, but a different road. It is all about spiritual mastership. In accepting all there is within you, you rise above it and become its master. Mastership is both strong and gentle. It is very allowing and yet it takes great discipline: the discipline of courage and honesty.

Claim your mastership, become the master of the emotional bits and pieces that torment you, often behind your back. Get in touch with them, take responsibility. Don’t let yourself be driven by unconscious emotional hurts that sidetrack you and block your road to inner freedom. It is your consciousness that heals. No one else can restore the power over your own emotions for you. There are no external instruments or means to take away those emotions. It is in becoming aware of them with strength, determination and compassion that they are released into the Light.

Becoming whole and free on the emotional level is one of the most important aspects of growing spiritually. I want to finish by saying: do not make it more difficult than it is. The spiritual path is a simple path. It is about love for yourself and inner clarity. It does not require any specific knowledge or any specific rituals, rules or methods. All things you need for your spiritual growth are within you.

At a quiet moment, go to the feeling side of you. Let this feeling side of you tell you what needs to be clarified and cleansed within you. Trust your intuition. Work on it. Believe in yourself. You are the master of your life, the master of your unique path to love and freedom.
