What is love, really?

People love to be in love. Yet “love” is a big word. It’s the biggest word in the language. Any language. So we have to ask…

What is love, really? Author M. Scott Peck says that love is a decision , not a reaction . It’s a choice, not a response. That may be one of the most important things anyone could ever say on the subject.

True love is never the result of how another person looks, behaves, or interacts with us. It is a choice to be loving no matter how that other looks, behaves or interacts.

This doesn’t mean that true love requires us to stay in a relationship that is abusive or that is no longer working or that’s not fulfilling. Do not confuse the words “love” and “relationship.” We are not proving that we love someone by staying in a relationship. Indeed, there are instances when we may be proving we love someone by leaving.

So it is not true that love demands that we love long after our own happiness has disappeared.

If a person is abusive to us, it is abusive to that person to allow their abuse to continue. For if we allow their abuse to continue, what do we teach them? Yet if we make it clear that the abuse in unacceptable, what then have they learned?

If we are no longer happy in a relationship, we confront one of the most important questions in life: Do we have a right to be happy?

The answer is, yes. To remain in a relationship in which you are no longer happy because “you said you would” only produces unhappiness all the way around. Maybe it’s time to get out.

Of course, it is true that no one can ever really “get out” of a relationship. We are always in relationship with each other, and the only thing that changes is the form the relationship takes.

You cannot end a relationship, you can only change it. So do not think in terms of ending your relationship, think in terms of changing it. You may wish to change its form , or you may wish to hold onto the form, but change its content.  

Deciding to love someone – truly love them – is a very high choice. It is the mark of a master.

Loving someone as a “reaction” is a different kind of experience. It is the mark of a student.

The danger of loving someone as a reaction is that the one we love may change. In fact, it is certain that they will.

They may gain weight, or lose it. They may alter their personality. They may change their ideas about something important to us. And if we are in love with what others bring to us in relationship, we could be headed for enormous disappointment.

So we come to the second big truth about all this: love is not about what the other brings to you , it is about what you bring to the other. Indeed, the purpose of all love relationships is to provide us with an opportunity to decide and to declare, to announce and to express, to become and to fulfill, Who We Really Are.

This is perhaps another way of restating the first truth, because Who We Really Are is a choice, not a response. It is a decision, not a reaction – although it is true that most people think it is the other way around.

When I talk to young people about love, I tell them that there are two questions having to do with life and relationship that everyone would benefit from asking.

1. Where am I going?

2. Who’s going with me?

It is important to ask these in the right order. Many people switch them around – and suffer for it the rest of their lives.

First they ask, who is going with me in my life? Then they ask, where am I going? Often, the choice of destination is conditioned and compromised by the choice of companion. This can make for a very rough journey.

Recently a young woman in her twenties asked me, “What does it feel like to be in love?” I told her I could not answer for anyone else, but I know what it feels like to me. It feels like there is only one of us in the room.

When I am with my beloved other, it feels as if there is no place where “I” end and “she” begins. When I look into her eyes, it is like looking into my own. When I sense that she is sad, it is as if the sadness pierces my own heart. When she smiles, the heart of me smiles with her – as her.

I wish I could feel this way about everyone. That is what I am working toward. I am feeling it with more and more people very day.

A Course in Miracles says, “No special relationships.” In other words, no one person should be more special to us than another. That is how God experiences love. There is no condition, and no one is more special than another.

It is difficult for most people to understand that.   How can God love us all equally, the “good” and the “bad” alike? It is because God does not see any of us as “good” or “bad.” We are all perfect in God’s eyes, no matter how we are behaving. Human beings have a long way to go before they can claim that. Most of us place condition after condition on our love, and we are very fast to withdraw it when those conditions are not met.

So the third great truth about love is that it knows no conditions. There is no such thing as “I love you IF…” in God’s world.

The fourth great truth about love is that it knows no limitations . Love is freedom, experienced. Total and absolute freedom. And so one who loves another never seeks to restrict or limit that other in any way. This is a tough one for many people. For many, love translates, roughly, into “ownership.” Not that this is ever expressed, of course. It is simply felt. It is a felt sense of “you’re mine.”

Of course, in true love nothing could be further from the truth. And in true love, such ideas or thoughts are never part of the experience. No one owns anyone , and no one acts as if they do.

This has major implications, as one might imagine. So now I am going to list the fifth, and perhaps the most “controversial,” truth about love that I know.

Love never says no. Not to persons of equal maturity and intelligence. (We are not talking about children here. Let’s limit this discussion to adults.)

No matter what the request of the beloved, love says yes. This does not mean that personal opinions are not expressed, or personal preferences not announced. It means that, in the end, a request from the beloved is never denied. Who are we to deny anyone anything?

Again, that is difficult for many people to grapple with. Yet this is the way that God loves. I am fond of saying in my lectures and retreats that God has only one word in her vocabulary. God always says yes.

No matter what you want, no matter what you choose, he never says no.

This idea can be reduced to two-words: God allows.

I believe that the words “God” and “love” are interchangeable, you could then say, “love allows.”

In the end, that is what love does. Love allows. It never restricts, it never limits, it never stops, it only allows. In true love relationships, you get to have what you want.

The final truth about love is that it always renews itself. It never runs out. So make every day your wedding day in your heart. Even if you are not married. Because you are, you know. To everyone.   We are all One.

Greetings beloved beacons of light, we are the Celestial White Beings. We come forth with celestial vibrations of pure white light that promote the presence of peace, fulfillment and bliss within your being. Please remember that it is your divine right to be blissful upon the earth. The more that you focus upon the creation of bliss, the more you will notice it navigating into your reality.

Today we wish to speak of divine change. We also call this, upon the inner planes, the winds of change because to us, on the inner planes, it is as if the Creator is sending very powerful winds through the Universe of the Creator, and these, they catch your intention; they invite you to stop, to ground yourself and to experience the presence of this powerful energy force. In doing so, you invite yourself, as does the Creator invite you, to revalue yourself.

What we, the Celestial White Beings, mean about this is, you have many things that you value – physical objects, people, thoughts, ideas, perspectives, goals and dreams – and yet, this divine change – these universal winds from the Creator, throughout the entire Universe of the Creator – invite you to look at your values once more.

In this new emergence of your divine self, you will notice that your values change; some things that you have been holding onto for such a long time, you might find that you no longer need them – they no longer have an importance for you.

This might also manifest: maybe you have an idea/dream and there is one thing that is stopping you from achieving that dream. It might be something that you value, something that you feel you cannot live without, something that is important or cannot be changed. What you may notice is that you are willing to let go of what is valuable in order to allow something greater to enter into your reality.

It might be that there is a need to let go of a family member, a friend or relationship that is immensely valuable to you. In doing so, you are creating an opening for divinity; the divine Creator to enter through you in an expression.

It is important that we, the Celestial White Beings, share with you that there is no need to let go of everything that is valuable to you. What we are sharing with you, is that you will notice, naturally/organically, that things that you put importance upon – that were valuable to you – don’t seem to have the same meaning and that you are willing and able to let go of them.

It still may be challenging however you will feel/sense/acknowledge an inner guidance, guiding you to release what is no longer needed, even if it seems valuable at the time.

This transition and transformation is coming forth because of a shift that has occurred within your being; a new stage of ascension in which humanity has been a part. It is also that you will recognise, through the release of valuable things, that you will create a powerful shift within your own being that will open you up to a new reality, so it’s not only about your own energies and perspectives changing, but it is a new reality that is coming forth, that you are creating through the release of something that seems very valuable and important to you.

It is a time to contemplate oneself; to listen within your being, to recognise what you value, what you are not willing to let go…and it is okay to not let go…and what you are now willing to let go.

Recognise, is this different from last year, from a month ago, from a week ago? Has there been a noticeable shift within your being that is allowing you to embark on creating a new reality, a new pathway?

We, the Celestial White Beings, invite you to contemplate this. You will notice that you value yourself, your soul and the Creator.

You might also want to contemplate, what does it mean to value oneself/soul/Creator?

Are you ready to give all of these into the central space of the Creator, and if you do, what will happen?

How do you spot the signs your relationship is under spiritual attack? Most couples face difficulties during their relationship, whether it’s financial worries or emotional challenges. No one is perfect. You can work through problems with love and commitment, but how do you identify spiritual challenges?

A spiritual attack is a negative external force, creating friction, fostering conflict, and sowing the seeds of mistrust. Spiritual attacks manifest in different ways. Here are seven signs your relationship is under spiritual attack.

7 Signs Your Relationship Is Under Spiritual Attack

1. Feeling more and more disconnected from your partner

Do you look at your partner and wonder what brought you together? It’s more like living with a stranger or a roommate than a lover. The intimacy is gone; you’re no longer interested in their life and there’s no sharing or communication anymore.

There’s a chasm opening between you, and you are drifting apart, but you can’t put your finger on why you feel this way.

2. Overwhelming negative thoughts about the relationship

Where once your relationship made you smile, now it fills you with anxiety and worry about the future. Where there was happiness and laughter, now there’s sadness or doom.

All relationships face issues, but this is a perpetual, unexplained sadness. If there’s no rational explanation for your feelings, it might suggest a spiritual attack.

3. Catastrophic thinking about your relationship

Spiritual attacks force you into extreme thinking patterns, such as catastrophic or black and white thinking. You imagine the worse scenarios possible. You magnify situations out of proportion, which leads to feelings of hopelessness and anxiety.

Even your language changes. You use words like ‘never’ and ‘always’. These have a knock-on negative effect on your relationship.

4. Uncontrollable anger towards your partner

Unless there’s a good reason for a sudden change in feelings, a shift from love to anger suggests a spiritual attack. You can’t explain why your feelings have changed so dramatically.

It’s like some external negative force is crowding your head with resentment and rage. It’s making you irritable. Your sense of humor has gone. You feel cross all the time and your partner is the cause.

5. Frequent arguments and increased areas of conflict

Your increased anger towards your partner inevitably leads to conflict in the relationship. You constantly start fights; you escalate trivial matters quickly, and misunderstandings are common. Your attacks are personal and designed to inflict the most hurt.

6. Repeated violent dreams about people you love

Violent dreams are a sign of a spiritual attack. We all have nightmares now and then, but evil spirits are manipulative, and they plant thoughts in our subconscious mind to influence us.

Nightmares of our partner and children dying in horrific circumstances leave us anxious and frightened. You wake with your heart pounding and an overwhelming sense of fear. You don’t feel safe anymore.

7. Overcome with exhaustion and despair

There’s an intricate connection between mind and body. If one is sick, it affects the other, and vice versa. Constantly dealing with negative energy is exhausting. It saps your soul, and this has a direct effect on your body. You are in a constant state of fight or flight. You’re anxious or furious.

There’s no middle ground, no harmony, no positivity. You feel unbalanced, out of sorts, weary, not yourself.

How do you stop a spiritual attack on your relationship?

Malevolent spirits are cunning and inveigle their way into our lives. They want to cause disruption and chaos, but they do it gradually, so you won’t notice what’s going on until it’s too late.

Spotting the signs your relationship is under spiritual attack is the first step. If you think your relationship is in trouble because of dark spiritual interference, here’s what to do next.

Maintain an atmosphere of positivity

Religious or not, this excerpt from the Bible is a great example of where to focus your attention:

“Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think on these things.” Philippians 4:4

You can maintain an atmosphere of positivity if you concentrate on mutual respect and understanding.

Communicate with your loved ones

Negativity thrives in isolation. Find someone you can share your worries and concerns with who won’t judge you. Speaking to someone who is objective and not involved in the relationship helps you see things from a different perspective.
Practice gratitude and mindfulness

Take time for yourself to decompress and relax. Think about all the good things in your life that you perhaps take for granted. How would you feel if your partner wasn’t there anymore? Reconnect with nature and your senses. Go for walks and engage with the outdoors.

Final thoughts

Recognizing the signs your relationship is under spiritual attack is the first step towards taking action. Once you know what to look for, you can protect yourself against future attacks and nurture your relationship back to spiritual health.

Today I want to talk about love. Spirit dearly wants to nurture the flame of feeling loved inside of you.

If you are in an existing relationship, we wish to deepen and expand that love, make it new again, and allow your heart to open in gratitude for it.

If you are not in a relationship, Spirit wishes you to open your heart wide and feel the love that is all around you.

Your heart knows love.

Your heart is love.

Love is your essential nature.

Very softly, very gently, attune to your heart right now.

Feel the softness that is always there.

Part 1: Love

The other night, I was driving home thinking of someone who is dear to me. As I thought about this one, tears came to my eyes with gratitude for the quality of the love that we share.

As I drove, spontaneously, unexpectedly, my heart burst wide open. What began as tears of simple gratitude and acknowledgment became, surprisingly, some deeper, wider experience I couldn’t quite describe.

All of a sudden, it was as if one thousand years of joy and pain and longing and fulfillment and loss and reunion all came out at the same time…

In that moment, I understood love differently.

I understood the exquisite and profound nature of this part of me, this boundless capacity to love.

In this moment, it was directed toward one special person.

For those of you who long for romantic fulfillment, I want you to feel that sensation in your heart. Everything you have ever wanted in another person, it is yours, right here, right now.

Let that sensation fill you completely, as I did. Even though my thoughts were not of a romantic partner, the love was all-consuming.

Love is love is love.

As I stayed with this experience of love and loss and joy and pain, what emerged was a surrendering into love. With the surrender came an incredible ecstasy. A sense of freedom and absolute bliss.

For those of you who want nothing more in this moment than romantic fulfillment, Spirit is with you. Stay here, and feel it. It is yours. Let yourself be filled completely.

For those of you who want to see what comes next, continue on.

Part 2: Love, Amplified

As I surrendered into the love, I was elevated into the awareness that my love for this person was actually my love for God, for the Divine. And as I surrendered even more into my love for the Divine, what I realized is that the love is inside of me.

Whether it was finding a pathway to the Divine through the experience of love for this person, or if it was simply the exquisite feeling of heartfelt love for this one - in either case, I realized the love was inside of me.

And once I realized the love was inside of me, I realized it was always available, and it was eternal.

This thought takes my breath away even now.

Love is love is love.

The love that we are seeking is inside of us and available at any time.

If this appeals to you, my wish is that you may share this understanding, too.

With this, you are never alone, you are always connected to something greater, and love is always available to you.

It’s easy to spot the obvious signs a relationship is over, but what about subtle signs?

Unless something drastic happens like an affair or abuse, people don’t just walk away suddenly, there’s usually a gradual decline in both physical and emotional intimacy.

In this article, I want to examine the subtle signs that show a relationship has finished.

  1. Something important happens and they’re not the first person you think of telling.
  2. They’ve become a neutral person to you. They are present in your life but add nothing to it.
  3. Spending time with them feels like a chore.
  4. You don’t look forward to seeing them.
  5. You stay late at work because it’s better than going home.
  6. You’ve stopped arguing or disagreeing on stuff; not because there’s no problem, but because you don’t care anymore.
  7. Their car pulls into the driveway, and instead of feeling happy, your reaction is, “Great, they’re home.”
  8. You used to reply to their texts or calls immediately. Now, you take your time, or ignore them.
  9. You’re more in love with memories of the relationship, rather than the person you’re in the relationship with.
  10. You can never seem to agree on plans for the future.
  11. You feel like you have ‘settled’ for this relationship.
  12. You can’t imagine spending the rest of your life with this person.
  13. Everything has become a habit.
  14. You feel lonely when you are with them.
  15. You find excuses not to spend time with them.
  16. You don’t like how they smell anymore.
  17. You don’t touch each other like you used to.
  18. Seeing them triggers an awful feeling in the pit of your stomach.
  19. You fantasize about being single or dating other people.
  20. Your dreams and aspirations are poles apart.
  21. You’re just waiting for something better.
  22. You don’t feel you are a couple anymore. You’re more like roommates.
  23. Being with them is exhausting.
  24. You don’t share the same values anymore.
  25. You smile and laugh at things on your phone, but not with them.
  26. You don’t even bother asking them how their day was.
  27. You suspect they might be cheating, but you don’t care.
  28. Your partner keeps trying to change you.
  29. You look forward to when you’re not with them.
  30. Leaving is challenging after such a long time together.
  31. Your mood drops when you’re with them, but not with everyone else.
  32. The little quirks that you once found cute are now intensely irritating.
  33. You don’t introduce them as your significant other anymore.
  34. You no longer talk to them about your goals.
  35. You haven’t laughed together for ages.
  36. You don’t respect their opinion anymore.
  37. You don’t miss them when they’re not there.

If you recognize any of the signs a relationship is over, what you do next depends on whether you want to salvage it.

Do You Want to Save the Relationship?

1. Ask yourself why you want to stay in this relationship

Do you want to stay with this person, or are you afraid of being alone? Is this person truly your soulmate or someone you have got into the habit of staying with? Starting out on your own is traumatizing.

I left my ex-partner after 10 years with nothing but a food blender. I know how easy it is to get into the habit of being in a relationship. But we weren’t compatible by that time. The best thing I ever did was to leave that controlling-coercive SOB.

2. How would you feel if they died?

If you’ve spotted any of the signs a relationship is over and want to know the ultimate test of whether you should stay, imagine how you’d feel if they suddenly died. I find it puts everything into perspective. It may seem drastic, or silly, but I’ll tell you why I do it.

My best friend of 40 years died suddenly a few years ago. He was a little OCD, and I could be impatient with him. Then he died unexpectedly in a motorbike hit-and-run accident. Sometimes it takes something drastic for us to realize how much someone means to us.

3. If it’s worth staying, what went wrong?

Relationships can lose their spark after a while. But if you feel there’s something worth saving, think about why you both fell out of love. If it’s something drastic like cheating, then trust has to be rebuilt. However, if it was a gradual growing apart, then there are things you can do.

Perhaps you are taking your partner for granted. Listing their strengths or what attracted you to them in the first place might be enough to rekindle that initial attraction.

4. Rediscover your partner

Boredom can erode the strongest relationship bonds. Humans like repetition, but that means it’s easy to fall into a rut.

Try doing new things with your partner. Put down your smartphones and go out. Reestablish that connection you once had. Engage with your partner.

It could be a regular date night or starting a new exercise regime. Where have you always wanted to visit but never had the time? Work out a schedule for city breaks or day trips.

5. Look out for repeated negative behaviors

Sometimes we repeat the same patterns of behavior without knowing it. It could be body language; for example, the way you fold your arms across your chest when you are arguing, the language you use, rolling your eyes or sighing when your partner asks for something.

Watch out for this behavior and stop it before it spirals.

Final Thoughts

Whether you are ending it or your partner, it’s distressing to see signs your relationship is beyond repair. Spotting the subtle signs a relationship is over can help salvage it before it’s too late, or confirm what you already know.

Every now and then I feel the urge to moan. This is one of those ‘now and then’s!’ Thank you for your understanding.

Good afternoon! I don’t wish to start on a downer … yet, I am going to. Too many folk are having a really, really hard time. Either through sickness, or relationship failure, or housing and financial issues. You name it, everyone I know has something quite huge going on. Here we all are, us Lightworkers, doing our very best to keep Light, yet, Truly, you say the Energies coming in are much Lighter, which we have been able to feel, yet, at the same time … it sometimes feels like the darker energies swamp the Lighter ones, and we have no fight left in us. Try it down here for a few months … you will soon know what I mean.

Welcome, Dearest Blossom. Welcome, indeed, to Each One joining this conversation.

We cannot join you on your Planet, yet, we can take your word for it and we do.

Hence why only ‘THE STRONGEST OF THE STRONG’ made the journey to Earth at this time.

Just one glimpse into your future days, the Joy that lies ahead when it is done … would give you the wherewithal to carry on.

Yet, that glimpse eludes us! Sometimes we are just too done in to look on the bright side.

Then instead of feeling done in … go within. That glimpse can be felt if you ask to feel the Peace and Love that you KNOW yourselves to be.

I want to be really rude and say ‘Yea, yea, yea, whatever!’ Looking out my window the rain is ridiculous … I mean ridiculous! So strong, so full, you cannot even see … on and on, day after day, containing within it all the nasties that make us feel even worse. THE WORLD IS MAD!  Am I having a moan? Indeed, I am! We carry on doing our best, telling everyone we have to Trust because it is all going to come good yet, here we are … and it doesn’t look anything like it is coming good. We need a break. We need a breakthrough!

What! Please don’t say ‘You volunteered’! Surely there is a clause saying we can have a moan now and then?

Blossom, you can have a moan, you can have a meltdown, you can have whatever you please because YOU are in control of your thoughts. If you chose, in this very moment, you could dance and laugh.

No thanks. Rather be miserable, if it’s all the same to you! Gotta admit, I’m causing myself to at least smirk with my stubbornness. Yet, seriously Guys … throw us a bone, as the saying goes.

Pause for a moment and close your eyes.

You are showing me a dead tree struck by lightning and then, another tree full of juicy apples. The thing is, with all respect … And?! We don’t need any more symbols or metaphoric pictures showing us what is to come. WE KNOW! And how wonderful it will be! It is the ‘WHEN’! The darkness that surrounds us and our Planet is so in your face, at times … to think that a smile from the heart can change all that, seems rather optimistic.

Do you believe it can?

We have no other weapon.

LOVE CONQUERS ALL.

It would be nice to see the evidence of that. I know! I know! Change your mood to Gratitude, Blossom!

Then do so.

I am Grateful for this moan. Thank you!

Don’t thank us, thank yourself.

Blossom, thank you for this glorious moan. Thank you for the smile my Moaning Minnie attitude is presenting. How pathetic can one get! Thank you for my patheticness! Thank you for this bigger smile occurring due to my patheticness! Now I giggle a bit. How childish can one become! I know better! I am Grateful for knowing better! Changing my mood to Gratitude has, of course, lifted my spirit a little, just in this last paragraph. How Blessed am I? Shall we begin?

Let’s.

YOU will have your down moments and your exceedingly High moments.

YOU will have your tears. YOU will have your Laughter.

YOU will have friendships and relationships that last forever or cease to be.

YOU will feel Abundance. YOU will feel scarcity.

YOU will feel whatever you choose to feel in any given moment

Yet, within it all … YOU KNOW … YOU KNOW … YOU KNOW …

Sometimes we feel we want to just curl up in a ball and let someone else do it.

Which is often the case … and they do … and then when they have had enough and curl into a ball, you will have gained renewed strength and can take up your position once again, and so it continues.

You each have each other’s backs. You are allowed to ‘LET GO’ for a little while and recoup. You are allowed to question the madness, the insanity of that which your Planet is presenting.

Are we? For when I do … even down to messages YOU give us, wondering at times if any of it will ever come to pass, I ask myself, what if it is all a load of baloney? How do we really know?

How do you, Blossom?

I know, because when I am not in this pathetic frame of mind … I can practice what … I/you … preach and it feels so right. Definitely better than when I am wallowing in the mud, like this. I am wondering if I shall even post this. I have always posted all conversations with you, yet, do I really want to reveal this depth of ‘piteous’ indulgence?

We offer that which we feel will assist. Throughout all these years, Blossom, we have many times repeated ourselves because we desire our message to be absorbed into the core of your Beings.

That which you choose to do with these messages, we cannot help you with.

We know they assist. You know they assist.

Oh! They do! They do! They do!

It seems the greatest dilemma is the time factor and this we cannot do anything about.

Can anyone?

No. For there is no timing in this Divine Plan … for there is no time. There is only movement forward.

Or backward.

No, Blossom, not backward. It may seem this way, yet, this is not the case.

I know we have to just TRUST, TRUST, TRUST. I know! Trust that it will all turn out just fine and dandy and that everything is working for the Highest Good of all.

Trusting what, Blossom? Trusting who?

Well, I have to Trust you. Even when I question sometimes, otherwise what would be the point of bringing your messages through, if I didn’t agree with them? It’s not that I disagree. I just don’t know if all this that you speak of will take place next week or next century … or next lifetime!

So, then you do Trust it WILL take place?

Inside … deep inside.

And this place deep inside … where is that?

My Truth.

And where is your Truth?

In the core of my Being

Are you saying the core of your Being knows all this as Truth?

We rest our case.
